Edg’ 7s are grateful to the 7 young Badgers who doubled up for us to make it an 11v11 match. It was a pleasure to play with them and it has to be said, they ran and won the game for us. Lots of nice short passes and working together in midfield and lots of good through balls releasing the wingers.

We took a little while to settle but once a goal went in, we played well and were more on top that the 2-0 half-time score would indicate.

Wednesbury had a little period of pressure in the second half (often prompted by Kyle Hammond guesting for them). However, our youngsters were just too much for them and we added another 4 before the end.

Kudos to all our experienced defence who defended stoutly and kept a clean sheet without a keeper. Ultimately, the game was won by our youngsters, who showed good thinking and passing around the D, creating lots of chances.

Goals came from Idris, Marcus, Reuben (2), Andrew and DC (set up with an open goal by Marcus).

Ultimately, it turned out to be a much more enjoyable game for both clubs, than it seemed it might be when we were both on 8 or 9 players on Thursday night.
